If you are speaking on a floor with no risers and want to sit down, you can sit down on the back of a chair with your feet resting on the chair seat. The advantage is that you are sitting and everyone in the audience can see you (which they wouldn't if you simply sat in the chair). The disadvantage is you could fall off...so if you do this, be careful!
