Practicing silent answers

Fellow speaker,

If you are working to develop an appropriate pause after a question you ask in your speech, try this.  Answer the question silently in your mind.  After you have answered the question silently, then continue your speech.  This silent answer will be the same length as the questioning going on in the audience's mind, and so your speech will resume when your audience is ready to hear it again.

Silently,

Tim
