To show the passing of time on the stage when speaking to most audiences, the farther right you go on the stage, the farther you move into the past. The farther left you move on the stage, the farther you move into the future. This will seem backward to you but will look correct when viewed by the audience. There are some international audiences whose sense of time is not a line from left to right, so check to make sure you can use a time line in front of your international audience.
